Debate Prediction: The loser tonight, is the American people.

What we will likely see during the US Presidential debate is, a clash of pre-built soundbites, tag lines and gotcha attempts, stuffed into a 90-minute grab bag, of tightly managed “15-minute segments”.

What we will certainly not experience is, an authentic dialogue.

Tonight, will not be an insightful conversation of unconstrained depth.

And, that’s because it’s on TV.

Television is not the medium for real dialogue.

Podcasts are.

No one ever has to “leave it here” because they are “running out of time” on a podcast. Conversations can ebb and flow naturally. On a podcast, people can “think out loud”, go beyond surface soundbites, and really, truly, thoughtfully have a fuckin’ discussion!

We don’t need a rehearsed television circus produced by a major network.

We deserve a real conversation.

On an independent podcast.
